Opening Sequence Of Britannia High

In the opening sequence of Britannia High the costumes worn by the characters while dancing are sporty and casual as they need something practical to practice in. As it moves to the students being in the classroom it shows them wearing casual clothes that would be worn typically by teenagers/ young adults. On the other hand the clothes worn by the teachers are smart / formal as they are wearing suits. This shows a clear diffrence between there status within the Tv drama by the way they are dressed compared to the students.
In the dance studio the lighting is more vibrant and clear compared to when they are in the classroom. This suggests that the type of atmosphere they are trying to portray is a more dull and boring place when in the classroom compared to when they are dancing as it makes them feel more happy and alive. It shows the clear distinction between there dreams of what they want to be ( which is a dancer) and the places that they have to be in ( the classroom).

The angles in the opening are usually on the sam level as the audience which suggests that that the audience can relate to there dreams and can be apart of the journey with them. When it shows the teachers the camera is on a high angle which implies that they are of a higher status to the students and that the students look up to them as the teachers look down to the students.

The props used in the classroom scene are a white board and desks. Also there are musical instruments such as a guitar. This shows the reality Vs dreams that the students have by showing tese props next to one another.
The sound heard throughout most of the opening sequence is a song played, but towards the end it is the voices of the characters.
